We are offering here an exquisite French Christian Catholic devotional "Book of Hours, according to the Roman Rite" from 1862, bound in an unique Morocco leather binding. This richly illustrated and illuminated Christian work is consisted of 245 illustrated pages (including 6 engraved plates) individually mounted on guards and chromolithographed in Color & Gilt. Text in Gothic style, richly framed by gold and colored borders.
Bound in a fine contemporary brown Morocco leather binding with stylised Damascus Silver Monogram initials "AJ" at the center of the front cover and two beautifuly stylised Damascus Silver Clasps. Very rich decorated front and rear paste-down with gilt frames and red Moirée silk. Free endpapers also accompanied by red Moirée silk.

Very rich decorated front and rear paste-down with gilt frames and bordeaux Moirée silk. Free endpapers also accompanied by bordeaux Moirée silk. Spine with five raised bands. Embossed title to the spine; Text in French; Collation complete - (1) blank leaf, (1), Chromolithograph half-title, (1), Chromolithograph frontispiece, Chromolithograph engraved title page, 245 pages including the "Table of Contents" and 5 engraved plates, (8) pages of "Family Memories" framed by stylised chromolithography frame (clean and blank inside), (2) blank leaves; Professionaly repaired joint of the front cover (front joint was cracked/splited). Binding is tight and firm, overall in very good condition, remains stable and secure, with some discoloration and surface scratches, little bumped and scuffed to the extremities. Both silver clasps are well preserved and fully functional, only with little patina. Front hinge is little weak, but keeps the text block securely attached to the binding. Interior is in impeccable condition, with little yellowing only, a few fingerprints to the white margins. Overall a beautiful copy of this scarce title.
