(1882) Boxed & Clasped Christian Roman Missal
We are offering here a French Christian Catholic devotional book "Roman Parishioner" from 1882. With frontispiece, engraved title page and and 4 engraved plates with Biblical motives. All 384 text pages framed with different decorative illuminated compositions surrounding the text.
Bound in a brown Morocco leather binding with two metal clasps. Personalised binding with metal monogram inititals "E.L" embossed to the front board. Very rich decorated front and rear paste-down with gilt fleurons and gilt Moiree silk with flower motives. Free endpapers also accompanied by fuchsia Moiree silk with flower motives. Sold together with an original wooden box with brass clasp and beige satin interior.

Pages/Text block clean and very bright, no foxing or markings throughout, only a slight yellowing. Overall the condition of the book is NEAR FINE. Wooden box is in very good condition, little worn and with some traces of use to the exterior, little dusty inside, but whole, strong and stabile.
