We are offering here an extremelly rare copy of this scarce title, rarely appears on market - A scarce first edition of "The Political Laws of the South African Republic" from 1896, translated by W.A. Macfadyen, with five sections and an Appendix with the Constitution of the Orange Free State, Revised and Published 1868.

"The Political Laws of the South African Republic. With an Appendix, Containing The Constitution of the Orange Free State"; Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Johannesburg, J.C. Juta and Co., 1896; Originial publisher's green cloth with gilt letthering to the front cover; 18,5 x 12,5 cm; Text in English; A sound copy, very well preserved for the age. The binding actually feels strong, firm and tight, with usual shelf wear, extremities bumped and with slight surface scuffings, slight discoloration, boards negligibly bumped. Otherwise the binding is tight and firm, keeps strong and secure, joints and hinges are whole and secure. Free endpapers and paste downs with age tanning. Pencil signature to the top white margin of the false title. Pages/text block very clean, with some yellowing and occasional scattered foxing (mostly to the few front and rear pages), no markings throughout. A sound copy.
