We are offering here a French Christian Catholic devotional book "Roman Parishioner" from 1851, with chromolithograph title page, engraved frontispiece and three engraved plates with Biblical motives drawn and engraved by Louis Joseph Hallez. With text in Latin & French.
Bound in a beautiful Red Velvet binding richly addored by embossed Silver Clasp, Silver Frames to the boards and spine and Silver Plate with embossed title to the spine. All page edges gilt.

Silver plate with engraved title to the spine. All page edges gilt; Text in Latin and French; Collation complete - False title, [1], Frontispiece, Chromolithograph title page, Title page, 796 pages, with 3 b&w engraved plates; Full red velvet binding is tight and firm, overall well preserved with minor shelf wears. Insignificant rubbing, silver frames, clasp and title with some patina. Front joint with incipient surface wear from use (from opening the front board). Pages/Text block in very good condition, very clean and bright, no marks throughout, with occasional foxing mostly to the title page, engravings and tissue guards. Overall the condition of the book is VERY GOOD.
