It includes chapters on Paul Kruger and his trial, the Bond and its aims, the Afrikander Uitlander, the culpability of the Bond Cabinet, and Boer apologists.
This is an extremely rare copy of this scarce title, hard to find selling on internet and rarely appears on auctions.
London, William Heinemann, 1900; 23 x 14,5 cm; Original dark green cloth hardcover. Gilt title to the spine; Text in English; Collation complete - Title page, xvi, 248 pages; Ex-library copy with some of the usual library indications. A blind "Presentation Copy" stamp on the title page. Binding is tight and firm, with usual shelf wear, overall in good condition. Boards and spine little rubbed and smudged, some soiling on the boards. Extremities and the bottom corners are lightly bumped with some damage to the cloth. There is a small old paper label near the bottom of the spine. Text block/Pages are tight and clean apart from a few marks from finger smudges, etc. Some small stains and some foxing on the endpapers. The principal library indications are labels on the front and rear fixed endpapers; traces of removed labels on the rear free endpaper; a reference number on the top edge of the title page; and pin-hole stamp on the bottom of the title page and following few pages and last few pages of the book. Overall the condition is GOOD. A sound copy.
